War of the Heart with Jenna Victoria #NewRelease

war-of-the-heart-1

When a vintage snow globe sends Boston dress designer Louise Martin & British B&B owner George Walker back in time to London, December 1940, they race against the clock to reconcile a feud between their families and solve a 75-year-old mystery. As Louise relies on God; and on George for guidance, friendship then love, will the future George envisions strangle her own dreams? Will their love survive generations of mistrust, the Blitz and being stranded in wartime 1940, possibly never to return to their former lives?

jennavictoriaEver since her grandfather co-created Twinkies, Snowballs & Hostess cupcakes for Intercontinental Baking Company, circa 1959, Jenna’s yet to taste a cake she hasn’t liked.

Jenna is the author of “fiction that feeds your faith” – Happily-Ever-After romance & romantic suspense stories with a Christian world view. She also writes clean, wholesome romances. Her stories emulate those she enjoys reading…with a heroine who is in grave danger & a hero who is smart enough to get out of her way as she kicks butt & takes down names… and those that feature the sweetest of fairy-tale-ending love stories.
She writes romances that glorify God and His sacrificial love through His Son, Jesus Christ and show how He gives us hope & peace amidst unbearable situations. After her first breast cancer diagnosis in 2012, several reoccurrences and metastasis, Jenna continues to praise God and trust His oversight in her life; and continues to write more books.

The Volk Advent with Kristen Joy Wilks

I need to apologize to Kristen. This post was supposed to go up in December since this is a Christmas book and her other book Copenhagen Cozenage was supposed to be posted today. I’m sorry for the mixup Kristen. Now without further adieu, let’s learn about another one of Kristen’s books. 🙂

IMG_3799Kristen Joy Wilks lives in the beautiful Cascade mountains with her camp director husband, three fierce sons, and a large slobbery dog. She spent her misguided youth falling in love with Commander Spock via Star Trek reruns, being suspended upside down over a homemade pit filled with gardener snakes, and stampeding herds of elk while on horseback. Now most of her adventures consist of preventing her hubby from filling another wall of the dining room with board games, thwarting her 3 boys’ efforts to sneak their pet chickens onto the bunk beds whenever she turns her back to fold laundry, and trying not to trip over the throng of random teenagers that swarm their house to play all those board games. She can be found tucked under a tattered quilt in an overstuffed chair at 4:00am writing a wide variety of implausible tales or at www.kristenjoywilks.com

TheVolkAdvent_w12166_300The Volk Advent

An orphaned Siberian teen loses her job and home on Christmas Eve. Left on the streets to freeze, Faina flees to an abandoned castle for shelter. At the castle, she discovers the animal-torn body of a local recluse. No wonder Eurasian wolves are not recommended for the first-time pet owner. Can a girl with no past, preserve her future from accusations of murderer and a pack of escaped wolves? The Volk Advent is available wherever e-books are sold.

Merry Kisses with Author Valerie Comer

MK-200x300Can Sonya and Heath embrace each other — opinions, traditions, and all — in time to share merry kisses for Christmas?

Fired from her retail position for saying Merry Christmas to a customer, Sonya Simmons chafes at the over-commercialization of the season and the difficulties of finding a new job. If only she’d actually said Merry Christmas instead of Merry Kisses to the tall, good-looking man buying enough toys for at least a dozen children. How embarrassing!

It was fun to fluster the pretty toy store clerk, but Heath Collins, the mall’s volunteer Santa Claus, hadn’t meant to get her fired. When his elf assistant comes down with a bad cold, Heath offers Sonya a few days’ work, only to discover she believes Santa is nothing but a liar and a fraud instead of an opportunity to make a difference in children’s lives.

EXCERPT

“Maybe.” She slid back into the chair. “Do you really go to the same church as I do? But that doesn’t make sense. You play Santa.”

It was his turn to be confused. “What’s that got to do with anything?”

Sonya picked a bit of glaze off the top of her doughnut with a pink fingernail and popped it in her mouth. She eyed him and heaved a sigh. “I don’t think it’s right to lie to little kids. They have enough trouble keeping fantasy and reality separate.”

His fingers began twirling his coffee cup again. “I see. So you think my job is right up there with the Easter bunny and the tooth fairy.”

She raised her eyebrows. “Isn’t it?”

“I don’t see it that way.”

“Of course you don’t. Just another day at the office, right?”

Heath couldn’t help his sardonic laugh. “Right. I work ten hours a week for one month a year as Santa, plus a party here and there. You can’t seriously think I’m in this for the money.”

Uncertainty crossed her face. “Okay. But why?”

“Why be Santa?”

“Why pretend to be.”

Heath shook his head. Of course she’d distinguish. “I like making little kids happy. I like their hugs and their shy smiles. I like being a bright spot in their day.”

“But it’s a lie.” She picked another fleck of maple off her doughnut.

“Sonya, I am real. I’m the guy who brightens their day.”

“Only because you’re in that red suit.” She eyed him. “Must take a lot of padding.”

Valerie-Comer-300x300Valerie Comer’s life on a small farm in western Canada provides the seed for stories of contemporary inspirational romance. Like many of her characters, Valerie and her family grow much of their own food and are active in the local foods movement as well as their creation-care-centric church. She only hopes her creations enjoy their happily ever afters as much as she does hers, shared with her husband, adult kids, and adorable granddaughters.

New #Christmas Release

Island Christmas meme 2

I’m super excited to announce that Island Christmas releases tomorrow. Island Christmas is the third book in my Wildflower B&B Series.

Book one, Island Refuge, is free TODAY on Amazon. So if you don’t have a copy be sure to get it now. Here’s the link. http://amzn.to/1MVhBTx

Now back to Island Christmas. Here’s the back cover blurb.

Should Rachel take a risk, or play it safe and possibly lose the man who could help fulfill her dreams?

Sous Chef Rachel Narrelli returns to Wildflower Island looking for a fresh start for herself and her young son, but discovers that life has a lot of bumps in the road even on idyllic Wildflower Island. She is grateful when new friend Chris Campbell offers support as she faces obstacles with her new job and new life. She cares for the Chris but must decide if she is willing to risk her heart to a man with an uncertain future.

A self-proclaimed workaholic, Chris Campbell comes to Wildflower Island hoping to take life at a slower pace. When a new guest at the Wildflower B&B catches his eye, he is drawn to her. But how will a woman and her young son fit into his future—a future that’s uncertain at best? And most of all, how can he reconcile her lack of faith in God with his strong religious beliefs.

I know it’s not nice to play favorites, but Island Christmas is my favorite book in the series. I’m not sure if it’s the feeling of Christmas it gives me, or the characters or what. In this book Rachel, a strong secondary character returns to the island and it was so much fun to be able to write her story and get inside her head.

One word of caution. Although each of these books can stand alone, they are best read in order. 🙂

If you would like to pre-order Island Christmas at the pre-order discount here’s the link. http://amzn.to/1VWMYCJ

I’ve read several newly released Christmas books this month. What have you been reading? Any Christmas books yet?

Island Christmas Releases Soon

I know I don’t post here on Fridays, but I had to share this with you. The first review is out for Island Christmas. I couldn’t be more pleased. Many of you know I generally don’t read reviews of my books, but since this is the first one, I had to. 🙂

The review is written by Sally Shupe and can be found in it’s original form at this link if you’d like to view it there. Otherwise I’ve pasted it below for you. 🙂

Island Christmas CoverI loved this story by Kimberly Rose Johnson! Everyone has a past, but God loves us anyway. These characters are facing situations I could relate to with emotions I could sympathize with. I was pulled into the story from the first page, especially because of little Jason.

Rachel Narrelli has returned to the Wildflower Bed-and-Breakfast with her 3 year old son Jason. She is the new sous chef at Wildflower Fresh. When she’s invited to church, she thinks she can’t go with all the perfect people. What would they think of her?

Chris Campbell is looking for investment property. All the men in his family have died young from heart disease and that’s what he figures will happen to him. He is staying at the Wildflower Bed-and-Breakfast until he finds a place. Rachel and Jason capture his interest from the beginning; however, Rachel doesn’t share his faith.

Rachel’s husband died from cancer and she doesn’t want to marry another guy who will die young and leave her. Can she let go of her fear? What will Chris think when he finds out about her past? Can Rachel and Chris let go of their past and fears to embrace a future together?

Read this wonderful story today about forgiveness and trust in God for a great love story!

Thanks so much, Sally!

If you would like to pre-order a copy today at the discounted pre-order price the link is below. For those of you who prefer paperback books, it is coming, but it’s not yet loaded for pre-order. I expect to see it go live around the time the ebook goes live, so please don’t give up.

The Reason for Christmas

IMG_0684

Luke 2:7

Christmas means different things to different people. For me it’s the day I celebrate the birth of Jesus with my family. We eat way too much and have a fun time playing games, and watching the Christmas parade.

I hope you have a special day however you celebrate and remember the reason for Christmas. God bless and Merry Christmas.
