Hi, Jerusha. Thanks for being here and also for the tweet. I really appreciate that!
I had several uncles that served in World War II, but I never took the opportunity to talk to them about it when I had the chance. I became interested in the history when I found a book at my local library called Hitler’s Soldiers in the Sunshine State. (I lived near Orlando at the time.) The book was about German POW camps here in the United States. That book led to other books and eventually I learned about the incredible amount of art and cultural treasures stolen by the Nazis. It’s a fascinating topic that’s still relevant today as people try to recover their family’s lost heirlooms. Did you see The Woman in Gold starring Helen Mirren? Fascinating movie.

Thanks for your response, Johnnie! No, I didn’t see that movie. I always like Helen Mirren, though. There are so many fascinating stories to be told about WWII! One of the next books I have bouncing around in my head, waiting to be written, will deal with Nazi treasure from WWII, as well.

I think it’s out on DVD now. It had critics, but I liked the way the past and present were juxtaposed. There’s so much depth to that entire issue. Wishing you the best on your “bouncing” story. 🙂
